Agricultural Education and Texas FFA “Day At The Capitol” was held Thursday, February 25th, 2010 in Austin, TX. This event gave Martinsville FFA members an opportunity to learn about the legislative process, specifically addressing agriculture and agricultural education, through workshops and presentations conducted by key political figures in Texas. Texas Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples, Texas Deputy Secretary of State Coby Shorter, III, The Honorable Pete Laney , Former Speaker of the Texas House of Representative, and The Honorable David Dewhurst, Lieutenant Governor of Texas all were keynote speakers that gave insight to the life of a politician and encouraged FFA members to become actively engaged in the political process. Martinsville FFA members attending were Hunter Nabours, Yazmin Meija, Delaney Gomez, Winston Reynolds, Rexanna Powers and Dustin Hughes.
